The Ogun state government, in a significant move towards addressing economic challenges, has kicked off the enrollment of more than 80,000 beneficiaries for the federal government’s Renewed Hope Conditional Cash Transfer (RH-CCT) program across its 20 local government areas.

Funmilayo Baker, the program manager of Ogun State Cash Transfer Unit, affirmed during a visit to the enrollment site in the Ipara community, Remo North Local Government Area, that this initiative resonates with President Bola Tinubu’s commitment to ameliorating ongoing economic reforms.

Ms. Baker emphasized the positive impact this financial assistance would have on beneficiaries and their households, highlighting that over 80,000 households across 192 wards and 2,681 communities in the state are set to benefit.

Explaining the enrollment process, she stated, “The state coordinating unit enumerated poor and vulnerable households, sending the list to the national social register. From there, names were returned to us for verification and capture. Those on the disclosure list will be included, with payments directly deposited into their bank accounts.”

Beneficiaries like Morenike Sofade and Fathia Ogunsola expressed gratitude, acknowledging the federal and state government’s efforts to fulfill promises aimed at alleviating the plight of the less privileged in society.

This move not only aligns with national economic reforms but also signifies a tangible step in providing immediate relief to those in need, marking a crucial stride toward socioeconomic stability.
