Academics Hold Key to Charting New Course For Nigeria’s Future, Prosperity – Vice President Shettima

Vice President Kashim Shettima on Friday, emphasized the pivotal role of academics in steering Nigeria towards a safer and more prosperous future.

Represented by Aliyu Moddibo, special adviser to the president on general duties (office of the vice president), Mr. Shettima underscored the importance of academia during the public launch of two pivotal books: “Boko Haram and Other Security Challenges in Nigeria: Issues and Options for Policy” and “Reflections on the 2023 General Elections,” authored by Abdullahi Shehu in Abuja.

Quoting Mr. Shettima, “The empirical research provided by scholars like Prof. Shehu is essential and serves as an indispensable resource for informing policy reforms and driving national development.”

Acknowledging academics as guardians of the nation’s collective memory, intellectual exploration, and data-driven analyses, the vice president lauded their contributions to national unity, asserting that their efforts could lead to a more secure and prosperous Nigeria.

Moreover, Mr. Shettima called upon academics both within and outside the country to lend their support to the administration of President Bola Tinubu in tackling the myriad challenges facing Nigerians.
