Iran’s Defense Minister, Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Ashtiani, issued a stern warning on Sunday, stating, “Whatever country that [would] open its soil or airspace to Israel for a [potential] attack on Iran, will [face] our decisive response.”
This cautionary note followed Tehran’s retaliatory air strike against Israel, triggered by an Israeli attack on an Iranian consulate in Syria. Iran’s UN mission also emphasized the bilateral nature of the conflict and demanded the US “stay away.”
The situation escalated further as Iran launched multiple drones towards Israel, prompting regional nations like Jordan and Lebanon to close their airspace and declare a state of emergency. The Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) framed the attack as retaliation for Israel’s actions in Damascus, vowing a robust response.
Amidst these tensions, the US warned Israel of a potential massive strike from Iran.
