Governor Fayemi receives N1.4bn equipment, pledges regular water supply

The Ekiti State Governor, Kayode Fayemi, has assured all residents that there will be regular supply of potable water as rehabilitation work on the Ero and Egbe dams would soon be completed.

Fayemi said works on the Ero Dam which would provide water for 16 local government areas,  would be completed in June while that of Egbe Dam and the Ureje Waterworks, that would serve the remaining six local government areas,  had reached advanced stages.

The governor spoke at the Ero Dam in the Moba Local Government Area of the state while taking delivery of N1.4bn water equipment for the ongoing rehabilitation work at the dam.

He said his administration’s plan, “is to ensure that virtually all communities in Ekiti State will have access to potable water by the time the rehabilitation works on the two dams and Ureje Waterworks are completed.”

The equipment received and inspected by the governor included nine units of high lift pump, six units of low lift pump and two units of upwash pump.

They are part of the contract for the rehabilitation of the dam funded by the  Ekiti State Government and the World Bank.
