The federal government has summoned Kaduna-based Islamic cleric Ahmad Gumi for questioning regarding his statements on bandit activities, as revealed by Mohammed Idris, Minister of Information and Orientation, during a press briefing at the State House, Abuja.

Minister Idris emphasized that Gumi, despite his influence, is subject to the law, necessitating his invitation for interrogation.

Ahmad Gumi’s outspoken stance on banditry has garnered significant attention in recent years, particularly his interactions and public appearances with bandits.

In a notable statement, Gumi clarified that terrorism in Nigeria is fueled by kidnappers’ ransom money rather than internal financing.
