COVID-19: Niger State reports second case of coronavirus

Niger State has confirmed another case of coronavirus, health authorities said on Thursday, bringing the total number of cases to two.

The Niger State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Muhammed MakuSidi announced that the second case was a returnee from Lagos State who is a resident of Tegina, Rafi LGA resident.

The patient is currently in the Quarantine Centre and will be moved to Treatment Centre at General Hospital Minna for treatment.

The State Ministry of Health is now working to trace both the contacts of both cases, notifying those who may have been exposed and placing them in quarantine for 14 days since their last exposure.

The state government has continued to advise the citizen to practice good handwashing hygiene, practice social distancing and obey the lockdown restrictions.
