Anambra Governor Soludo Reveals No Salary for 2 Years, First Lady Drives Personal Cars

Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo made startling revelations during the celebration of his administration’s two-year anniversary in Akwa, the state capital. He announced that he has not received any salary since taking office and highlighted the modest approach his government has adopted, including his wife not having an official car.

Governor Soludo emphasized his commitment to fiscal responsibility by executing stringent cost-cutting measures and avoiding borrowing, despite facing challenging circumstances.

Speaking at the event, Governor Soludo stated, “As I speak to you, I am not taking any salary, I am not paid any salary by the Anambra State government. Even the First Lady of Anambra doesn’t have any official car; she still drives my personal vehicles.”

He continued, “Any governor that comes floods you with offers for borrowing and so on and so forth, but we decided for the first two years to demonstrate something, capacity to do more with less.”
