Kwara Mourns the Passing of Oloro of Oro Kingdom

The Oloro of Oro Kingdom in Kwara State, Oba AbdulRafiu Olaniyi Ajiboye Oyelaran, has passed away. The traditional ruler, aged in his mid-70s, succumbed to a prolonged illness that lasted over a year, leaving behind a legacy of peace and dedication to his kingdom’s development.

Reports indicate that the revered monarch breathed his last in the early hours of Saturday, as confirmed by the Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, Rafiu Ajakaye. Governor Abdulrazaq expressed deep sorrow over the loss, describing the late Oloro as “a peacemaker, a father figure to all, and a man who was passionate about the development of his kingdom.”

The governor’s statement highlighted the late monarch’s unwavering commitment to peace, unity, and progress, traits that endeared him to his people. Despite a previous declaration of death during his illness last year, the Oloro continued to fight bravely until his final moments.

As the community mourns the loss of this esteemed leader, Governor Abdulrazaq offered prayers for Oba AbdulRafiu’s soul, seeking forgiveness and a place in Al-jannah Firdaus. The governor also extended his condolences to the Oro Kingdom and the family of the late monarch, urging them to carry forward his noble legacy with strength and determination.
