We must never forget the sacrifices of our fallen heroes – Gov. Bello

Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello has urged citizens of the country who are privileged to be alive to never forget the sacrifices of the fallen heroes who have laid down their lives and paid the ultimate price to keep others safe and secured.

The Governor made this known on Tuesday while launching the 2021 Armed Forces Remembrance Day Emblem in remembrance of fallen heroes of the Armed Forces and make donations towards the support of their families and welfare of retired men and women of the force.

The Governor lauded the The Army, Navy, Airforce, NSCDC, DSS, The police and other uniformed men, fighting day and night to ensure that civilians lived in peace and that their lands are protected.

Governor Bello Condemned the recent senseless killing of some security Personels in some part of the country, noting that a nation, State or any region that does not value the lives of its uniformed men was doomed to perish.

He noted that he has huge respect for the uniformed men and appreciates their continued efforts to keep the nation safe and secured despite them not being properly motivated.

The Governor stated that moral boost to the uniformed men was not only in received welfare packages which was agreeably not sufficient but far more was the treatment meted to families of fallen heroes.

Governor Bello urged government, cooperate bodies, individuals to contribute generously in launching the emblem and to do so at all times in remembrance of these late heroes making sure that they never end up to regret serving their father land.

The Governor promised that as a government his administration would continue to ensure that the welfare of both retired legion and the families left behind by the fallen heroes are catered for.

Governor Bello expressed his keen interest to know how cooperate organisations would donate towards this cause, as they have been more beneficial of the sacrifices of these noble men and women

The Chairman of the occasion, Rt. Rear Admiral Ibrahim Idrisu in his welcome address lauded the state Governor for his dogged resolve to keep the state safe.

He asserted that the Governor have remained a vocal voice in the country and was qualified for bigger assignments at the national level.
