- Urge Contractors and Newly appointed Community Development Officers to be dutiful
Dr Kazeem Olayimika Salaam (Alabaja Omu-Aran) has commended the Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRasak for his steadfast commitment to infrastructure development in the state capital and in Kwara South, marking a significant milestone in the state’s progress.
The UK-based financial expert and entrepreneur stated that with a visionary approach, the Kwara State Government under the leadership of AbdulRahman AbdulRasak has prioritized strategic investments in infrastructure projects across the state. These initiatives underscore a dedication to enhancing connectivity, driving economic growth, and enriching the lives of citizens.
Dr Salaam hinted that in a strategic move to bolster economic growth and enhance societal well-being, the government has demonstrated prudence and foresight by allocating resources to critical infrastructure projects in Kwara South towns and villages. This investment underscores the administration’s dedication to fostering sustainable development and improving the quality of life for citizens across the nation.
“Infrastructure serves as the backbone of any thriving economy, facilitating commerce, connectivity, and community development,” remarked Dr Salaam. “One of the major diminishing differences between Advanced countries such as United Kingdom, United State of America etc. and underdeveloped countries like Nigeria is the wide infrastructural gap between the capital cities and other towns and villages Therefore, I commend His Excellency’s proactive approach in prioritizing infrastructure spending in these deprived towns and villages, recognizing its pivotal role in driving innovation, fostering job creation, and fortifying the State of Harmony resilience particularly in the much neglected Kwara South.”
The infusion of funds into infrastructure initiatives signifies a tangible commitment to addressing long-standing infrastructure challenges while laying the groundwork for future growth and prosperity. Recent approvals by the Kwara State Executive Council, given for the construction and rehabilitation of Owu Falls Road phase (I); Omu Aran Oko Road, Arandun Township Road, Roundabout-Esie-Oro Township Road; Ajase Ipo-Oke Iya Road in Irepodun local government, and the completion of the Idera-Alabe section of the Ilere District Road., would not only stimulating economic activity but also positioning the State for sustained competitiveness not only in the country but in the global arena.
Furthermore, Dr Kazeem Olayimika Salaam charged the contractors to deliver quality work and see the projects as their own contribution towards achieving quantum leap in economic development of the state. He also urges the newly appointment Community Development Officers across the 16 local government of the state to discharge their duties honourably. He recounts that ideally, among others, the following duties are expected of the Community Development officers – monitoring and promoting economic development projects, establishing partnerships with local businesses and community organisations to promote community development programs.
Salaam added that as advocate of sustainable economic growth and development in our dear state, he and the teams in Nigeria stand ready to collaborate with government stakeholders, industry partners, and community leaders to ensure the successful implementation of infrastructure projects that benefit all stakeholders.
In closing, Dr Salaam commended His Excellency AbdulRahman AbdulRasak for its unwavering dedication to infrastructure development and reaffirm his commitment to supporting initiatives that drive inclusive growth, foster innovation, and build a more resilient future for all.
