President Bola Tinubu, in an exclusive statement to reporters at the World Economic Forum Special Meeting, expressed his administration’s resolute commitment to leveraging technology for transparent governance and boosting public-sector efficiency. Quoting President Tinubu, he stated, “We will look at this and work on it further. I am proud of Nigeria’s youths. They are very excited and creative with technology. They encourage us as we continue to press our reform efforts forward for their future prosperity. This is Nigeria’s time to become what it ought to be.”

In response to Mr. Bill Gates’ propositions on technological integration, President Tinubu acknowledged the potential of a unified identity platform, emphasizing its significance for planning, security, and tax efficiency. “Technology is the enemy of fraud, corruption, and irregularity. We have been working hard on improving technology,” said Chief Ajuri Ngelale, quoting President Tinubu.

Reflecting on his experience as Lagos State governor, President Tinubu highlighted the transformative impact of technology on revenue generation, underscoring the need for diligent investment in technological advancements.

Mr. Gates, lauding Nigeria’s talent pool, expressed confidence in the country’s capacity to manage sophisticated technological systems, citing the successful implementation of similar initiatives globally.

Moreover, Mr. Gates advocated for the adoption of high-yield seeds and advanced agricultural practices to enhance productivity and nutrition nationwide, endorsing the Minister of Agriculture’s endeavors in this regard.
