The Olubadan-in-Council has given the green light to Owolabi Olakulehin, the Olubadan designate, for his coronation as the Olubadan of Ibadanland. The council’s endorsement came following a special meeting at the Oja-Oba palace in Ibadan.
During the meeting, attended by 10 council members, the Otun Balogun Olubadan of Ibadanland, Abimbola Ajibola, was notably absent, despite earlier concerns regarding Mr. Olakulehin’s suitability.
Addressing reporters post-meeting, Rashidi Ladoja, the Otun Olubadan of Ibadanland, confirmed the council’s decision, stating that preparations for the coronation, pending Governor Seyi Makinde’s approval, are underway.
“After the governor’s consent, a day for the coronation will be announced. We thank everyone for the support, as we pray that all of us will be alive to witness the coronation,” Ladoja remarked.
