Brigadier General Fredrick Uwem Mbaba hails from Uruan Local Government of Akwa Ibom State.
General Mbaba was a member of the 43 Regular Course at the Nigerian Defence Academy and was commissioned into the Nigerian Army Engineers as a Second Lieutenant in September 1996.
The gallant officer was a proud Alumni of the Command and Staff College, Jaji Nigerian as well as National Defence University Argentina.
He served his country diligently and gallantly in various command, staff and instructional positions including Chief of Staff at 41 Engineer Brigade and Engineer Liaison Officer at Headquarters Theatre Command Operation LAFIYA DOLE. He was also the Director Engineer Search and Disposal at Headquarters Nigerian Army Engineers. The General died on 1 February 2020 after a brief illness.
He is survived by his mother, sisters, wife and 3 kids. Adieu Gentle Highlander.
