Kwara records five new coronavirus cases

Kwara State has recorded five new coronavirus infections.

This brings the total number of cases in the state to nine.

The state governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq made this known on Friday night via his Twitter handle.

The government said a total of 128 tests had been done while 87 samples tested negative, adding that there 32 results were pending.

Two recoveries had, however, been made, leaving the active cases in the state to seven.

There has not been any record of death.

Meanwhile, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, said 51 new cases of COVID-19 have been reported in Nigeria.

“As at 10:10 pm 17th April there are 493 confirmed cases of COVID-19 reported in Nigeria,” it announced, adding that 159 recoveries have been made while 17 deaths have been recorded, unfortunately.
