Kwara-born Businessman Unveils Financial Support Scheme for Petty Traders on Birthday

A Kwara-born businessman, Prince Adekunle Oyedepo, has disclosed plans to unveil a financial support scheme aimed at uplifting petty traders within his senatorial district of Kwara South to mark his birthday anniversary.

Oyedepo who hails from Omu-Aran in Irepodun local government area of Kwara State will mark his birthday on November 22, 2023.

In a statement released on Tuesday, 21 November, 2023, the entrepreneur disclosed that the financial support scheme would be run through his non-governmental organization, The Adekunle Oyedepo Foundation.

“As I mark my birthday on November 22, I am delighted to unveil the ‘Kwara South Petty Traders Support Scheme’. I consider this a means of giving back to the grassroots where I come from.  This scheme which shall be run through my Foundation, is a testament to our commitment to economic empowerment of our people at the grassroots.

“Our intervention will be a revolving monthly financial support for petty traders in Irepodun, Ifelodun, Ekiti, Oke-Ero, Isin, Offa and Oyun local government areas, all within Kwara South senatorial district. In the coming days, we shall provide more details on the scheme.

“Our intention is to provide financial assistance from the little resources we have to small-scale traders who form the backbone of our local economy. Our targeted beneficiaries are petty traders in our local communities in Kwara South who are badly affected by the present socio-economic crisis and are struggling to sustain their businesses,” the statement reads in part.
