The Otógẹ́ Progressives (TOP) has formally unveiled the National Rainbow Coalition ahead of the 2027 general elections, with the group inaugurating 20,000 grassroots canvassers across the country.
The unveiling ceremony, held in Ilorin, brought together political leaders, stakeholders and members of TOP, as the coalition outlined its strategy for mobilising grassroots support ahead of the 2027 elections.
At the event, the coalition reaffirmed its support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and declared its backing for Senator Saliu Mustapha’s bid for re-election as the Senator representing Kwara Central Senatorial District.
The coalition also expressed support for other candidates aligned with its political platform, signalling its intention to work across political divides to build a broad-based electoral movement.
Speaking after the event, Senator Mustapha described the Rainbow Coalition as a platform driven by inclusiveness, unity and strategic collaboration, stressing that the interests and development of the people should remain at the centre of political engagement.
He commended the leadership and members of TOP for their confidence and continued support, while reaffirming his commitment to effective representation of the people of Kwara Central.
The senator said he would continue to work towards advancing the interests and development of Kwara Central and Kwara State.
The mobilisation of 20,000 grassroots canvassers is expected to strengthen the coalition’s presence at the grassroots as political parties and support groups begin preparations for the 2027 general elections.
