In a dual initiative aimed at bolstering governance at both the grassroots and legislative levels, Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State has sworn in 21 local government administrators before proceeding to distribute 24 Toyota Jeeps to members of the House of Assembly.

The swearing-in ceremony, held at the Presidential Lodge in Birnin Kebbi, marked a significant transition in local governance. Governor Idris charged the newly appointed administrators with the crucial task of staying closely connected with their constituents. “As leaders, I want you to stay with your people instead of leaving them and moving to the state capital,” the Governor emphasized.

Furthermore, Governor Nasir Idris stressed the importance of mentorship within the political landscape, advocating for a mix of experienced politicians and young leaders to drive progress in the state. “I want the old, experienced, and seasoned politicians to groom the young ones because they are our future leaders,” he affirmed.

Responding on behalf of the administrators, Dahiru Nayaya-Ambursa, the Sole Administrator of Birnin Kebbi, pledged unwavering support for the governor’s administration. “We would do everything possible to bring positive development to our respective local government areas,” Nayaya-Ambursa assured, echoing the commitment of his colleagues.

Following this ceremony, Governor Nasir Idris proceeded to fulfill another promise as he distributed 24 Toyota Jeeps to members of the House of Assembly. Sharing the news on his social media handle, the Governor expressed gratitude for the Assembly’s cooperation and understanding.

“I am honored to fulfill my promise by distributing 24 First Class Toyota Jeeps to the dedicated members of the Kebbi State House of Assembly for their official engagements,” Governor Nasir Idris stated. The distribution ceremony, held at the Government House in Birnin Kebbi, was a symbol of the commitment to serving the people of Kebbi State diligently.

In a spirit of collaboration, Governor Idris joined the Speaker of the Assembly, Rt. Hon. Usman Muhammad Ankwe, in a test drive of the Jeep allocated to him, further cementing the harmonious working relationship between the Executive Arm and the Assembly.

These dual initiatives underscore Governor Nasir Idris’s dedication to fostering collaboration and development across Kebbi State, ensuring effective governance at all levels.
