Gov Fintiri Commissions Housing Estate Built By Catholic Diocese For IDPs In Adamawa

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri Monday commissioned forty three Sangere Marghi Housing units built by the Catholic Diocese of Yola in collaboration with development partners for IDPs in Adamawa.

Governor Umaru Fintiri while speaking at the event, expressed happiness to the effort of the Diocese towards resettling the people that were displaced by insurgency since twenty fourteen.

He thanked Bishop Stephen Dami Mamza for the exemplary project in humanitarian care and support and expressed optimism that the Catholic Church in Nigeria is very proud of him for being in the forefront offering humanitarian support to the IDPs in the past 7 years.

The State Chairman Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) who is also the Catholic Bioshop of Yola Diocese, Stephen Dami Mamza said the project is a tall dream since the Diocese opened its doors to host IDPs.

He thanked Governor Umaru Fintiri for allocating the plot of land for the project and approving connection of not only the housing estate but Sangere Marghi community to the national grid which he described as commendable.

There were Goodwill messages from the Lamido Adamawa who was represented by the Ubandoman Adamawa and District Head of Girie Alhaji Ahmed Ibrahim Mustafa and chairman Girei local government council Mr. Juda Amisa among others.

High point of the event was cultural dance display from Ghoza, Marghi, Vulma and Fulani dancers.
