During a visit to Ilorin, the capital of Kwara State, Minister for Mines and Steel Development, Prince Audu Shuaib Abubakar, emphasized the Federal Government’s commitment to generating over 80 million employment opportunities for Nigerian citizens within eight years, primarily through the steel industry and other sectors.
Prince Abubakar highlighted President Bola Tinubu’s vision to elevate Nigeria’s GDP to over $1 trillion, emphasizing the pivotal role of industrialization in job creation. He commended Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for his outstanding governance in various sectors, praising Kwara as a trailblazer state.
Addressing the steel industry, Prince Abubakar aimed to encourage local players, aligning with President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda. He expressed pride in Kwara, being intimately connected to it as a native of Kogi State, and acknowledged the state’s political leadership.
Governor AbdulRazaq reciprocated, advocating for maximizing Nigeria’s steel potentials, particularly through the proposed reforms under President Tinubu. He endorsed Kwara’s KAM Holdings Limited as a suitable entity to operate the Ajaokuta Steel Production, citing its significant contributions to the sector.
The governor commended the minister for his diligence in reviving Ajaokuta Steel Company, noting the potential benefits for both the country and the state. He emphasized KAM Holdings’ importance in advancing Ajaokuta’s prospects, lauding the company’s patriotic choice to remain in Kwara.
