The Dangote Petroleum Refinery in a ground breaking move announced a drastic reduction in diesel prices, plummeting from N1200 to N1000 per litre. This comes after the refinery had already slashed prices from N1600 to N1200 just three weeks ago, marking a significant 30% decrease in market rates.

The refinery’s statement on Tuesday highlighted the potential economic impact of this move, stating that it could positively influence various sectors and contribute to curbing the country’s high inflation.

President of SOAN, Mr. Sunny Eja, acknowledged the development, noting that while his members weren’t currently involved in the product lifting at Dangote Refinery, they were actively engaging with stakeholders for potential participation.

Devakumar Edwin, Executive Director of the Dangote Group, emphasized the refinery’s readiness, mentioning substantial product quantities and efficient evacuation via sea and road routes. Vessels are lining up for loading, with capacities ranging from 26 to 37 million litres, reflecting the refinery’s operational efficiency and scale.
