Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has thrown his weight behind the aspiration of Nigeria’s former Vice President Atiku Abubakar to run for President in 2023.

Atiku Abubakar served as Vice President of Nigeria from 1999 to 2007 and holds the traditional title of Wazirin Adamawa.

Thousands of people parked the International Conference Centre Abuja on Wednesday to witness the event. It is the 6th time Atiku is attempting to run.

The Right Honourable Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri described the Son of Adamawa Atiku Abubakar as the face of a new generation that would change Government.

“Your declaration has put to rest the speculation as to whether he will run or not in 2023. Today, we are all witnesses to this testament which is undoubtedly the first of its kind in our great party as we match to the 2023 decision hour of Nigeria.

Now that Atiku has declared, I want to equally declare that we are 100% behind him”. he said.
Governor Fintiri notes that the former Vice President represents Adamawa’s special treasure to Nigeria and commended his commitment to the unity, growth and development of Nigeria which he stated is not in doubt.

According to the Adamawa State Governor, Atiku Abubakar is the most experienced person in the race at the moment, not only in PDP, but in the country.

While regretting the colossal damage meted on Nigeria by the failing APC led Government, he said a moment like the 2023, Nigeria would need a person with capacity, acumen and pedigree of Atiku to salvage the country from the mess of APC.

“Perhaps, God has kept this aspiration burning and delayed the victory for a special purpose and time”.

Governor Fintiri described Atiku Abubakar as the finest politician of Adamawa and Nigeria, an agent of generational change who could transform a country characterised by bad governance.

He was quick to therefore caution Nigerians to vote wisely and ensure they vote Atiku Abubakar.
“Our support for him to lead Nigeria brokers no faction. We have long passed that point where we shall be asked to support our own.we are at a point where we are calling on our friends across Nigeria to support this longest aspiration for a greater Nigeria”.

Presenting himself as an agent of change, Atiku Abubakar noted that the most fundamental right of every Nigerian is the right to life, regretting that APC has failed to protect the lives of her citizens.
He therefore promised that “Under my presidency I will not tolerate insecurity”.

The former Vice President disclosed that his administration will focus on 5 priority areas, unity, security, economy, education and devolving more powers to the federating units.

He said Nigeria is in dire need of visionary leadership describing the nation as a sinking ship that must urgently be rescued, saying that is why he’s in the race.
