ASUU cabal in AAU attacking SIT to shield corrupt lecturers, others

One of the arrow heads of the cabal in Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) at the Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, instigating the union to discredit the Special Intervention Team (SIT), has been identified as the Acting Director, General Studies, Dr. M.L. Igbafen.

For Dr. Igbafen and his cohorts, the SIT constituted by the Edo State Government to reposition the institution to meet global standards, is preventing the cabal from operating freely.

To the cabal which include Chairman of ASUU, AAU Ekpoma, Dr Cyril Oziegbe Onogbosele; Assistant Secretary ASUU, AAU, Ekpoma, Dr William Odion, and Prof John Paul Anegbode of Polical Science who is currently facing trial for exam malpractices, the old order must remain in the institution.

As Acting Director, General Studies, Dr. Igbafen has insisted against the advice of the Acting Vice Chancellor, to contract the printing of GST 222 (Readings in General Studies Vol. III), textbook for the 2020/2021 Academic Session, to a printing press outside the institution even though the University’s Press is capable to deliver the job.

Dr. Igbafen intends to harmstring the university to give away a N3,400,000 printing job to a phony printing press, Inno Printing Press, for a job that can be handled internally, even as the institution is in dire financial straits.
