President Bola Tinubu has greenlit the selection of Mr. Olugbile Holloway as the Director-General of the National Commission for Museums and Monuments, underscoring a strategic move for cultural heritage preservation.
The announcement, disclosed by presidential spokesperson Ajuri Ngelale on Thursday evening, highlights Holloway’s distinguished role as the Managing Director of Evoke Communications Limited, a renowned creative brand/consultancy agency.
With a Bachelor of Arts in Politics and International Relations and a Master’s degree in Business Administration, Holloway’s multidisciplinary background positions him to invigorate the National Commission for Museums and Monuments (NCMM) and champion Nigeria’s diverse tangible and intangible cultural legacies.
Ngelale echoed the President’s anticipation, stating, “The President expects that the new Director-General will bring life into this important agency and ensure the preservation, promotion, and development of Nigeria’s diverse tangible and intangible cultural heritage.”
Established in 1979 by the Federal Government with decree 77 of 1979, the NCMM, also known as the National Museum of Nigeria, plays a pivotal role in collecting, documenting, conserving, and presenting the nation’s cultural properties for educational, enlightening, and entertaining purposes.
