The Nigerian Senate, in response to the alarming spike in killings by herdsmen and bandits, has vowed to confront President Bola Tinubu with resolutions aimed at halting the ongoing bloodshed of farmers in Benue North East and across Nigeria.

In a motion addressing the relentless attacks by suspected terrorists posing as herdsmen, Senator Emmanuel Memga Udende highlighted the grim reality, revealing that over 50 people have been slain in recent assaults on communities in Benue State.

Senator Ali Ndume, expressing exasperation, emphasized the urgency of the security situation, advocating for concrete action rather than mere condolences or moments of silence.

Former Senate President Ahmad Lawan lamented the failure of the country’s security architecture, urging the Senate to leverage past security summits’ recommendations and press President Tinubu for implementation.
