President Bola Tinubu has authorized the selection of 12 consuls-general and five chargè d’affairs to represent Nigeria in 14 countries globally. Alkasim Abdulkadir, special assistant on media and communications strategy to Yusuf Tuggar, minister of foreign affairs, disclosed this significant decision through an official statement on Tuesday.
The appointed officials are expected to play pivotal roles in bolstering Nigeria’s diplomatic relations and advancing strategic interests across key nations. This move underscores Nigeria’s commitment to fostering robust international partnerships and enhancing diplomatic outreach under President Tinubu’s administration.
Abdulkadir emphasized the importance of these appointments, stating, “The selection of these consuls-general and chargè d’affairs reflects the president’s vision for proactive and dynamic engagement on the global stage.” This decision aligns with Nigeria’s broader foreign policy objectives aimed at promoting economic growth, cultural exchange, and mutual cooperation with partner nations.
