His Excellency, Senator Douye Diri, Governor of Bayelsa State today received three PDP Presidential Aspirants at the Government House, Yenagoa.

The presidential aspirants who came together towards building consensus among the aspirants are Rt.Hon. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, Governor of Sokoto State, Senator Bala Mohammed, Governor of Bauchi State and Senator Bukola Saraki.

“First, I like to thank God for implanting this in the minds of this very senior citizens of Nigeria and of our great party, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

But there is no other way forward, other than the unity of purpose of the People’s Democratic Party, we must realise that firstly, we are opposition party. We are not a party in government and we cannot afford to factionalise and fractionalise our party, by way of individual ambitions. And so, this I think is the first time in Nigeria that presidential aspirants are coming together to first of all, the unity of the party and to forge a way forward as a party moving together.

So, I like to commend you for taking this and taking it beyond your respective states and now moving round Nigeria. One thing I will assure you, is that your state chapter here, is prepared to work assiduously for the unity of our party and of course, at the end of the day, for PDP once again to take over the reigns of governance and give to Nigerians, what we have given them before, the destruction of the party in power. Thank you for coming”, Governor Senator Diri stated.

Earlier, former Senate President and former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Chief Anyim Pius Anyim, was received by Governor Diri as part of his Presidential consultation to win the PDP ticket.
