His Excellency, Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke has on Monday 30th December, 2024, been officially enrolled as the Chief Creative Officer in Osun State. During a live media interaction at the recently held Adire Osun Festival and logo unveiling, Governor Adeleke officially logged into the Osun State Creative Data World Platform to mark the beginning of data capturing of creatives in Osun State.
At the official launch of the historic cultural event, Governor Adeleke enjoined all Creatives in Osun State to follow his lead by logging on the platform for detailed profiling and documentation to adequately position for government patronage and necessary support.
The unveiling of Official Logo of the Adire Osun Festival signifies the official launch of state government initiative in promoting the creative industries in Osun.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Tunde Laface, a legend in Nigeria’s Creative Industry and the Senior Special Assistant to the Osun State Governor on Creative Economy, Events and Entertainment, laid emphasis on the strategic roles, entertainment and Creativity played in the emergence of Governor Adeleke and in cementing his position, as the most outstanding and most popular Governor in Nigeria.
He emphatically referenced the Osun State Creative Industry as the major backbone of the Adire Osun Festival and with the assurance of the support of Governor Adeleke as the pivotal driver of the project, Adire Osun Festival is set to transform Osun State into an Entertainment Hub of Creativity and Culture in Nigeria.
Mr Tunde Laface further proposed that the Osun State House of Assembly, led by Distinguished Speaker Rt. Hon Adewale Egbedun, enact a law that will tranform Adire Osun Festival into an annual event in Osun State. This according to him, will ensure the full realization of the potential gains of the proposed festival.
This call received a major boost when Governor Adeleke, during his address, emphasized that, as the Chief Creative Officer of Adire Osun Festival, this event will now be held annually starting from year 2025.
Other activities expected to be held alongside Adire Osun Festival 2025 includes the; Adire Osun Ambassadors Launch; Adire Osun Fashion Couture; Omodan Adire; Adire Osun Export Summit
and Adire Osun Street Carnival as a major part of Thea annual festival.
To ensure sufficient propagation of the rich culture of Osun State and her people, the Adire Osun Carnival costumes and accessories will be made using colorful and indigenous Adire Fabrics.
