More APC Members Join PDP in Bayelsa

More members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bayelsa State have dumped their party for the ruling PDP in the State.

The leader of the PDP in the State, Governor Douye Diri, this afternoon received some key members of the opposition into the PDP.

The Special Adviser on Political Matters to the Governor, Chief Collins Cocodia, led the defectors to meet with the governor.

The defectors who are mostly from Southern Ijaw LGA include Hon. Torpedo Amananagha, Mr. Temple Dickson Newman, General Darikoro Alfred and Mie-ebi Ekimizitei.

Others are Chief Natus Zebakame, Karibo Okele, Benson Philip Perekeme, Dr. Promise Azor, and Engr. Genesis Ziperedein Faribo.

The defectors said they had to join the PDP to support the prosperity administration under Governor Diri, whom they said has changed the face of politics and development in the State.

On the occasion, the Governor assured that they would enjoy full membership of the party forthwith and be integrated into the prosperity government.

Mr. Temple Dickson, grassroots mobiliser has been appointed as Senior Special Assistant (SSA) Special Duties to the Governor.
