Hon. Shuaibu Jimoh, the Senatorial Chairman of Kwara North for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has tendered his resignation, marking a significant development in the party’s leadership landscape.

Jimoh, who assumed the role in 2022, officially stepped down, with his resignation letter received by the Party’s State Secretary, Mr. Abdulrahman Kayode Abdullahi Kayode.

In a statement released by Olusegun Olusola, the State Publicity Secretary of Kwara PDP, Jimoh cited his aspiration for a new role within the party as the reason for his resignation. However, the specific nature of this new role was not disclosed.

The resignation comes against the backdrop of a series of departures from the PDP, with some members attributing their decisions to concerns over leadership style and accountability. Former State Youth Leader Prince Haliru Mahmoud Dantsoho’s departure, in particular, gained attention after he publicly called for transparency in the use of campaign funds, leading to his suspension by the party.

Other notable resignations include those of Mr. Abdulrazaq Lawal, the Party’s Scribe, Dr. Bilikisu Oniyangi, the Organizing Secretary and former commissioner, and Prince Tunji Moronfoye, the Publicity Secretary.

The evolving dynamics within the Kwara PDP signal a period of reshuffling and introspection as the party navigates internal challenges and strives to maintain cohesion ahead of future political engagements.
