Kwara LG Election: Prince Adekunle Oyedepo Calls for Peaceful Conduct in Irepodun Local Government

As Kwara State prepares for its Local Government elections tomorrow, 21st September 2024, founder of The Adekunle Oyedepo Foundation, Prince Adekunle Oyedepo, has issued a heartfelt appeal for peace and unity, particularly among the people of Irepodun Local Government Area. In a public message, he emphasized the vital role of peaceful elections in fostering a stronger, more prosperous community, urging citizens to vote responsibly and avoid actions that could incite violence or unrest.

“Peace is the foundation of progress,” Prince Oyedepo remarked, reminding residents that democracy thrives when citizens peacefully elect their leaders. He emphasized the importance of focusing on the future of the community and the state at large, noting that violence only hinders the growth and unity everyone desires. “We must all exercise our right to vote responsibly, understanding that peaceful elections lead to peaceful transitions,” he added.

Addressing the people of Irepodun specifically, Prince Oyedepo called for a spirit of unity, stressing the need to respect each other’s choices, maintain harmony, and resolve disagreements without conflict. He particularly encouraged the youth to resist any form of provocation, urging them to demonstrate the true essence of democracy by ensuring that every voice is heard without fear or intimidation. “Peace is not just the absence of conflict; it is the presence of understanding, respect, and love for one another,” he concluded, expressing hope for a peaceful and successful election process in Irepodun and across Kwara State.
