In readiness for the gradual resumption of activities in public places, the First lady of kwara State H E Dr (Mrs) Olufolake Abdulrazaq and her initiative the Ajike People’s Support Center have distributed face masks to various professional, religious and political groups across Kwara State.
The distribution exercise which took place in Ilorin the state capital between Monday 1st of June and Thursday 4th of June witnessed leaders and representatives of these groups coming to collect the masks on behalf their members,, masks ranging from 20 to 40 were given to each of the groups.
The president of Commercial Motorcycle Riders Association Mr Gabriel Ajewole while receiving the masks on behalf of his association thanked the first lady and the Ajike people’s center for the gesture adding that members of his association will put the gear to use.
In his own remarks the State Chairman of Tricycle Owners Association of Nigeria, Alhaji Salihu Gidado also commended the gesture of the first lady saying that it would go a long way in stemming the spread of the virus.
As public places gradually resume business, the face mask is intended to provide some measure of protection for the beneficiaries in the course of conducting their businesses, over 100 different groups benefited from the face mask distribution.
While the restrictions imposed by the government last, the first lady enjoins people to make use of the protective gear to stem the spread of the virus.
Dr Olufolake Abdulrazaq equally enjoins the public to always observe all protocols and adhere to advisories by government and other relevant stakeholders to contain the spread of COVID – 19 pandemic.
The kwara State tailoring association and fak fashion place earlier presented 200 face masks each to the first lady, thousands face masks were later distributed at the event.
