Kwara First Lady attends Nigerian Governors Wives Forum Annual Retreat

The Kwara State First Lady, Her Excellency, Ambassador, Dr. Mrs. Olufolake Abdulrazaq on Thursday 4th of November 2021 joined her counterparts to attend the NGWF annual retreat at the Eko Signature Hotel, Lagos.

The Forum which is a coalition of Nigerian States First Ladies has the First Lady as its Secretary. The retreat commended the successes recorded by member States in the outgoing year particularly working together as a collective to ensure that instances of Gender Based Violence is reduced to the barest minimum in our society.

The retreat which started at 10am featured updates on engagements since the forum last met and minutes of their last meeting.

Members of working groups within the Forum used the occasion to present reports on their activities and propose working protocols that would suit their concerns.

Members at the retreat further deliberated on the sustainability strategy to be adopted for the Forum, the 2021 Annual Conference, draft 2022 Work plan, effective collaboration with the office of the First Lady of Nigeria, the 2021 16 days of activism and relationship with Development Partnerships among others.

The retreat which is expected to continue as an annual event of the Forum had in attendance twenty State First Ladies.
