Kidnappers Must be Treated As Terrorists – President Tinubu

President Bola Tinubu emphasized the urgent need to treat kidnappers as terrorists during a Ramadan dinner with Federal judiciary members, led by Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN) Justice Olukayode Ariwoola. Tinubu stated, ”We must treat kidnappers as terrorists. They are cowardly. They have been degraded. We must treat them equally as terrorists to get rid of them, and I promise you we will get rid of them.”

The President also pledged to continue implementing crucial reforms to enhance the welfare and working conditions of judicial officers, with an executive bill for salary increases already under consideration by the National Assembly. Tinubu acknowledged the challenges faced by judicial officers post-retirement and highlighted the need for fair compensation.

Expressing gratitude to the judiciary for their service, President Tinubu assured continued support for mutual growth, aiming to lead Nigeria towards a brighter future. Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, commended the President’s commitment to judicial reforms and welfare improvements for judicial officers.

Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Lateef Fagbemi, thanked President Tinubu for pushing forward the executive bill for judicial salary increases, acknowledging the President’s determination and compassion in addressing longstanding issues within the judiciary.
