Health: Governor Zulum presents N79 million naira cheque to 81 medical doctors, commissions apartments

The Executive Governor of Borno, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum has allocated the Doctors Quarters and handed over keys to 81 Medical Doctors to enhance better health care delivery and improve working conditions to medical Doctors.

In addition, the Governor has also presented one million naira cheque to each of the benificiaries as furniture allowances.

It would be recalled that the doctors quarters was commissioned by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on February 24, 2022, after which modalities were put in place for consultative selection and allocation to benefiting doctors.

Meanwhile, during the handing over of 81 flats and cheques to the medical doctors, Governor Babagana Umara Zulum directed the provision of two buses that will be permanently stationed at the quarters for transporting them to hospitals for healthcare services.

In appreciation, a representative of the medical doctors pledged that they will reciprocate the gesture by improving medical services to patients at their respective hospitals.

Immediately after the handing over Governor Zulum proceeded to Wulari
in MMC to flag off aroad and drainage construction and a primary Health Centre fully equipped with all facilities including Solar Energy and Water facility.

The road Inaugurated is 2.17Km and drainage system commencing from Ramat polytechnic up to Wulari junction.

While commissioning the Health center also launched 300 Million Naira worth Free Maternal Drugs to all health facilities in Maiduguri.

The Governor urged the ministry to sustain the health center and assured to continue in providing effective health services in the state.
