Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri Friday attended the burial of Brigadier General Dzarma Kennedy Zirkushu and seven others donating 10 million naira to the family of the slain General.
It will be recalled that the Brigadier General died while in active service to his father land.
He was killed in an ambush by Boko Haram/Islamic state in west Africa province ISWAP terrorist along Chibok road, in Borno state.
Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri praised General Zirkushu saying his command was responsible for the relative peace people of Michika and Madagali enjoy today.
Governor Fintiri noted that the command has not only provided the right protection and security for the communities, but reinforced resilience in our people living in that part of the state.
As a mark of honour to the slain General, Governor Fintiri renamed Lagos Street Off Gibson Jalo way to Brigadier General Dzarma Zirkusu.
He equally donated 17,000,000 (17 Million) Naira to the families of the other 7 Soldiers who died with him to be rationed into 4,000,000 (4 Million) for the family of the Major, 3,000,000 (3 Million) Naira for the family of the Lieutenant and 2,000,000 (2 Million) Naira for each of the families of the other 5 Soldiers.
Responding, the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Faruq Yahaya said death is inevitable, encouraging the nigerians to continue to pray for the families of the soldiers killed in the service of humanity and the nation.
Lieutenant General Faruq Yahaya presented national flags and condolence letters to the next of kin of the fallen heroes, among other things, at the funeral.
