The 3.18-kilometre Nyibango-Yolde Pate Township Link Road with two bridges was officially opened on Monday by the Adamawa State Government.
Govermo Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri alongside Chief Mrs Fibi Nancy Nadah performed the ceremony.
Chief Mrs Fibi Nadah the guest of honour, praised Gov. Fintiri for completing such a sizable road project—among many others—despite the nation’s economic difficulties.
Fibi praised Fintiri for sticking up for his people, stating that PDP governors are meeting public expectations.
Speaking during the site’s official commissioning event, Governor Fintiri said that the Nyibango-Yolde Pate road project will advance the socio-economic development of the state capital and play a significant part in creating a modern Adamawa State.
Fintiri noted that his administration would not use the State’s progress for political gain and that it would continue to expand beyond the state capital.
“When we launched the urban renewal campaign 2020 we were clear on what we wanted to archive with the campaign the vision is to reinvent an Adamawa state with a mega capital city with all the municipal trappings that can open up the state to investors and deliberately produce semi-urban centres that would serve as excellent cosmopolitan withholding hub for the containment of rural-urban drift
Three years down the lane am happy to note that this vision is fast becoming a reality, we are gradually building a state where citizens’ choice of place of settlement is decided not by the availability of municipal infrastructure but by the choice of other determinants.”
Among the dignitaries that attend the program are Deputy Governor Crowther Seth, Speaker House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Aminu Iya Abbas, Member representing Demsa Numan and Lamurde, Kwamoti Lori, Members House of Assembly, Commissioners, Advisers, SSG Mallam Bashir Ahmad, Chief of Staff Government House Yola Professor Maxwell Gidado among others.
