The Kwara State Chapter of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, felicitates with Muslims in the State and across the world on the successful completion of the Ramadan fast and celebration of Eid-el-fitri.
The party in a statement signed by its State Chairman, Engr. Kola Shittu, wished the Muslim faithful a joyous and peaceful celebration, while urging them not to abandon all the lessons and virtues of the just concluded glorious month.
He said: “On behalf of the leadership of the Peoples’ Democratic Party in Kwara State, I congratulate Muslims in our dear State and across the globe on the successful conclusion of this year’s Ramadan fasting and the celebration of Eid-el-fitri festival. We heartily wish you all a joyous and peaceful celebrations.
“While the month has ended, it is important we hold on to the lessons and virtues of the holy month. Let’s continue to embrace the virtues of Ramadan including tolerance, love, forgiveness and kindness to others.”
The Kwara PDP Chairman urged Muslims in the State to remain steadfast, committed to the worship of Allah and continue to pray for the peace, unity and development of Kwara and Nigeria at large.
He also asked them and indeed all Nigerians to use this of occasion of Eid-el-fitri to offer prayers for divine intervention in the fight against COVID-19 while expressing hope that the country and the world at large would soon overcome the pandemic.
In view of the current economic realities, Shittu urged the Muslim faithful and well-meaning Nigerians to reach out and show compassion to the less privileged members of the society, whose means of survival have been affected by the Coronavirus pandemic.
