Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, on Tuesday, visited the production center for the massive production of the nose masks in Akure, the state capital.
The Governor expressed satisfaction at the compliance with global standard by the State Committee on Production of Nose Masks.
Speaking at the production centre which has several production points in Akure during his visit, Governor Akeredolu commended the committee for using quality materials with standard specification.
According to him, with the level of work done so far by the committee within the short time of its inauguration, it was clear that it would deliver as scheduled.
Arakunrin Akeredolu used the occasion to call on all the residents of the state to ensure they wear nose masks as it is now mandatory for all to use it starting from first day in May adding that the
nose masks would be distributed to the residents free of charge.
“This committee is doing a wonderful job. You recall that we put them together few days ago and they have taken up the challenge and prepared to deliver on it. What the Committee is doing is marvellous”, he said
Earlier, the Chairman of the Special Committee on Mass Production and Distribution of Nose Masks, Mr Gani Muhammed said the nose masks being produced by his committee were unique and specially made with global standard.
According to him, the materials could not allow water in, and also reusable which makes it different from others.
He said over 500, 000 units of the nose masks would be delivered to the State Government as the first tranche from the Akure Centre.
Mr Muhammed added that all the tailors sowing the nose masks are indigenes of the state drawn from across the 18 Local Government Areas of the state.
