Masked men suspected to be Yoruba Nation agitators created chaos and panic at the Oyo State Government Secretariat, Agodi, Ibadan, on Saturday. Eyewitnesses reported the tense scene as “the masked men were stationed at different locations within the area.”

The disruption led to businesses and residents in Bodija, Ikolaba, and Awolowo areas locking their doors, and even motorists altering their routes. Security operatives initially struggled to disperse the agitators until reinforcements from the state command, Nigerian Army, and Amotekun arrived.

Despite efforts to calm the situation by the Executive Assistant to the Governor on Security, CP Sunday Odukoya (retd.), the agitators persisted in their attempt to hoist their flag within the Secretariat premises.

The incident caused traffic diversions and heightened security measures, with the State Police Public Relations Officer, Adewale Osifeso, remaining unreachable for comment at the time of this report.
