Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa State, today at the 37th State Executive Council meeting dropped a cheering news on the initiative to facilitate the construction of the Nembe-Brass road in the Bayelsa East Senatorial Zone.
“We have written to the Nigerian Agip Oil Company and the Federal Government to ensure that the taxes Agip and other companies would have paid be used to construct the road from Nembe to Brass.
As a Government, we are also prepared to bring in whatever that is our deal into the project. I want to call on all well meaning Bayelsans particularly our people in the host communities to support this noble idea by this Government.
I will also like to call on those who are representing us at the Federal level to put in your best, speak on behalf of your state, so that if we succeed in ensuring that road is started, I believe most of our challenges, particularly in terms of communication will be arrested to a large extent. For now we are patiently waiting for actions to be taken at the Federal level.”
