Armed Forces Remembrance Day: Abiodun donates N10m, van to Nigerian Legion

In continuation of his administration’s quest to give logistics support to security agencies in Ogun state, Governor Dapo Abiodun has donated a sum of ten million naira and a van to the Nigerian Legion in the state.

Announcing the donation at his office while launching the 2022 Armed Forces Remembrance Day Emblem, the governor called on the people, corporate organizations and government at all levels to support the worthy cause of remembering the heroes of the country by wearing the Armed Forces Remembrance Day Emblem with pride.

According to him, celebration of the heroes past wasn’t just an opportunity to say thank you just in words but also indeed.

“Our soldiers are our symbols, they are the symbols of our national unity and sovereignty. I implore all of us as individuals and corporate organizations, government at all levels to support this very worthy and commendable cause by not just donating generously but by ensuring that we all wear this emblem with pride, it is the least that we can do,” he noted.

Abiodun, while restating his administration’s unwavering commitment to improving the state economy, assured that his administration would equally continue to implement its vision in line with the laid down “ISEYA” developmental agenda.

Speaking earlier, the chairman, Nigerian Legion in Ogun state, Orukotan Olumuyiwa expressed his delight at the support of the governor, saying history would continue to remember him for redefining the place of patriotism in development.

Orukotan while noting that the Armed Forces Remembrance Day is a great reminder of the mortalities and fatalities suffered by the nation’s fallen heroes, added that soldiers are courageous mortals.
