Hon. Tunde Doherty, Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) United Kingdom Chapter, has been honoured with the Distinguished Leadership Award by Triangle International Magazine, a globally acclaimed publication known for spotlighting outstanding leadership and social impact.
The award was presented at a prestigious ceremony held in London on Saturday, attended by several high-profile dignitaries including Nigeria’s Minister of Interior, Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo. The event highlighted Doherty’s notable achievements in leadership, diaspora engagement, and support for national development initiatives.
According to the organisers, Hon. Doherty was selected for his “unwavering contributions to national development both in Nigeria and in the diaspora,” as well as his active support for the Renewed Hope agenda championed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR. His efforts in galvanising the Nigerian diaspora in the UK and promoting the ideals of the APC were also cited as key reasons for the recognition.
Reacting to the honour, Hon. Doherty expressed gratitude to the magazine and reaffirmed his commitment to fostering unity and progress among Nigerians abroad while supporting development efforts at home. “This award is not just for me; it is for every Nigerian in the diaspora working daily to make a difference,” he said.
The ceremony marked a moment of pride for the APC UK Chapter and the wider Nigerian community in the United Kingdom, celebrating a leader whose influence continues to bridge the gap between the homeland and the diaspora.
