The All Progressives Congress (APC) marked a major milestone in its global expansion strategy on Sunday with the formal inauguration of newly elected executives of its France Chapter. The event, held in Paris, was attended by key figures of the party’s diaspora leadership, including representatives from the United Kingdom and the APC National Headquarters in Nigeria.
In a statement that set the tone for the evening, Hon. Tunde Doherty, Chairman of the APC UK and Chairman of the Committee of Diaspora Chairmen (APC CDC), praised members of the party in France for their unwavering support.
“Your dedication to our great party and to our President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has been remarkable,” he said. “Together, we are driving the vision of Renewed Hope forward — shaping it into a reality that propels our nation toward a prosperous destination.”
Also addressing the gathering was Chief Olarewaju Balogun (Maiyegun of France), the immediate past chairman of the APC France Chapter. In an emotional speech, he reflected on the journey of the chapter under his leadership.
“Today marks a significant chapter in the journey of our great party in the diaspora,” Balogun said. “It is a moment of reflection and of gratitude. As I stand before you today, I do so with a heart full of pride for how far we’ve come and humility, because this role has never been about one man alone.”
The highlight of the event was the official inauguration conducted by Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, National Chairman of the APC. Dr. Ganduje commended the resilience and growth of the party’s diaspora chapters, especially in France.
“We appreciate all active members for holding the banner of our party high,” he stated. “Your efforts in expanding the membership of the APC across the diaspora are truly commendable. It is with great pride that we inaugurate the new executives of the APC France Chapter.”
The inauguration marks a new era for the APC in France and underscores the growing influence of diaspora chapters in supporting the party’s national and global objectives. The newly elected executives are expected to deepen the party’s engagement with Nigerians in Europe and contribute to policy dialogue, mobilization, and advocacy in line with the Renewed Hope agenda.
