The All Progressives Congress(APC), kwara State Chapter has condemned the attacks on public and private facilities in the state capital, ilorin on Friday.
It decribes the looting and attack on public and private facilities as misplaced and unjustifiable under any guise whatsoever.
In a statement issued by the party during the weekend,the party said the attack on Ilorin metropolis reinforces the necessity to collectively condemn the wanton destruction of properties.
The party equally has commended Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq for his swift approach to economic fallout of these mindless attacks with the announcement of N500m fund to assist owners of businesses affected by the looting and destruction by the hoodlums, to bring them back to their feet.
” This prompt economic measure by Governor Abdulrazaq exemplifies his professional acumen as a successful businessman who understands the implications of these destruction.
” However we wish to implore the state government to probe the Friday’s destruction which most likely is politically motivated by the opposition.
” This is moreso because the opposition through some of its social-media hirelings have predicted this ominous event 24hrs before it happened. If a witch cries in the night and a child dies in the morning, we do not go to the soothsayer to ask what killed the child. This ancient proverb may be flawed in law, but the witch should not be left out if suspects are taken for questioning.
” We therefore call on Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq to immediately rejig the state’s security apparatchik and probe this security threat, calling on the various security alarmist to shed more light on their ‘ prophetic claims,’ which has come to pass,” the statement said.
