Again, Zulum named Nigeria’s Governor of the Year by Champion Newspaper

For the umpteenth time, Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, has been declared Nigeria’s Governor of the Year, this time by Daily Champion Newspaper.

Champion is of Nigeria’s prominent national dailies, established by Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu from the southeastern part of Nigeria.

Management and editors of the newspaper explained in a publication, that Zulum won the award after thorough journalistic assessments of Nigeria’s 36 Governors using many indices of leadership and evidence of developmental efforts.

The newspaper had invited Professor Zulum for the award night, which will hold on Friday, June 3, 2022 in Victoria Island, Lagos.

Zulum’s chief of staff, Professor Isa Hussaini Marte, accompanied by the Governor’s senior special assistant on media, Babashiekh Haruna and the special adviser of special duties, Bakari Ali Kotoko, is expected to receive the award, while Zulum remains in Maiduguri to handle the affairs of government.

Zulum has won close to 20 awards, with the highest number coming from prominent newspapers after thorough comparative assessments of independent journalists.
