The MHR representing Marte Monguno Nganzai federal constituency, who is the chief whip of the House of Representatives, Federal Republic of Nigeria, Rt Hon Mohammed Tahir Monguno Esq in conjunction with the Nigerian Agricultural Quarantine Services sponsored a two-day training for 200 farmers of his constituency which was flagged off on Thursday 5th August 2021.
The program was rounded up on Friday 6th August 2021. Where each of the participants receives a certificate of training, Fifty Thousand Naira cash (N50,000.00), improved seed varieties of 12.5kg maize, rice, beans, soya beans, guinea corn, millet, and others.
The closing ceremony was attended by the Marte Monguno and Nganzai LGAs party chairmen, members representing the LGAs at the state house of assembly, executive chairmen, elders stakeholders, and other critical stakeholders of northern Borno.
In the opening remarks, an elder stakeholder, Alhaji Bukar Garadai commended the effort of the lawmaker for his developmental projects so far and the proposal of the Gajiram water project which is worth close to 600 Million Naira. He added that we are extremely lucky to have Hon Monguno as our leader. He urged the constituents for total loyalty and support to Gov Zullum and Hon Monguno.
Among the speakers at the event are; Rt Hon Engr Mohammed Gambomi FNSE member BOHA Marte state constituency, Rt Hon Maina Garbu member BOHA Monguno constituency, three LGAs party chairmen, and the LGAs chairmen. In their statements, they appreciate the lawmaker for bringing the dividend of democracy to the doorstep of our masses.
The humanitarian lawmaker, Rt Hon MT Monguno in his closing remarks said; “I’m indebted to you all. Upon all that I’m doing to put a smile on your faces, I remain indebted to you all till my last breath.
With consonant with the developmental, aspirations, and agenda of our indefectible governor Prof Babagana Umara Zullum, which is working round the clock to bring succor to the lives of our people in a view of the diversification occasion by the Boko Haram insurgency in our dear state. We cannot go astray to allow him alone to take care of the masses. We must accomplish him. That’s why I initiated this series of workshops to supplement the efforts of H. E Prof Engr Babagana Umara Zulum, mni, FNSE.
Eventually, let me use this opportunity to facilitate with His Excellency, Gov Zullum on behalf of the Marte Monguno Nganzai constituents for receiving a second highest honor by the Niger Republic President which is equivalent to GCON in Nigeria. This is a clear manifestation of the fact that, exfoliate of our governor in terms of bringing succor to our people in backing upon massive infrastructural development in our dear state.
More grease to his elbow, I know this will serve as a veritable tonic, a zeal, and enthusiasm for him to deliver more to the people of Borno state. And we also want to thank the government and people of the Niger Republic for recognizing our governor.”
