Nasarawa state government is to construct a dual carriage way that will link the Keffi-Abuja highway to the Emir’s palace in Keffi through the historic Antau Bridge

Governor Abdullahi A. Sule dropped the hint in Keffi Thursday during inspection of part of the collapsed Antau Bridge as a result heavy rainfall and flooding in the area.

Governor Sule says it is important that the bridge is constructed immediately but however calls for the designated contractor for construction of the dual carriage way to submit technical drawings and other details of the proposed bridge.

He said it will amount to duplication of resources and wastage if the bridge is reconstructed only to be destroyed during the dualisation work.

Governor Sule prayed for the repose of the souls of those who lost their lives during the flood disaster while urging citizens to desist from construction on waterways.

Earlier the Managing Director of the Nasarawa Urban Development Board, NUDB Hon. Wada Mohammed attributed the flooding to developments on the water ways and blocked drainages.
