As we commence the holy month of Ramadan, the senator representing Kwara South Senatorial District, Senator Oyelola Ashiru, extends his greetings to Muslim Ummah.

“I congratulate all Muslim faithfuls as we commence the Ramadan fast as commanded by Almighty Allah.

“Ramadan is an opportunity for self assessment to strive for righteousness and atonement of sins. It provides us another opportunity to draw closer to our creator and move away from the vanity of the world.

“As displayed by Prophet Mohammed (SAW) Ramadan is not just an abstinence from food and water, it is a time to place humanity above all and give charity, show kindness and extend hands of generosity to our neighbors and the less privilege.

“I call on my fellow Muslims expecially in Kwara South, to pray for the peace of our nation and to obey government directives as we battle the most dangerous epidemic in human history.

“May Almighty Allah grant us the strength to complete this fast in truthfulness and in holiness”.
