The Director-General of the Citizenship and Leadership Training Centre (CLTC), Rinsola Abiola, has been appointed Secretary of the Youth Mobilisation Directorate of the 2027 All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council, a development that further cements her growing profile within the party’s youth leadership structure ahead of the general election.

Abiola announced her appointment via her official X account, expressing gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for the honour.

“I am deeply honoured to have been appointed Secretary of the Youth Mobilisation Directorate of the 2027 APC Presidential Campaign Council. I sincerely thank Mr. President for the confidence and inclusion,” she wrote.

The appointment places Abiola at the center of the ruling party’s strategy to galvanise young Nigerians ahead of what is expected to be a keenly contested electoral cycle. In her statement, she outlined her intention to work collaboratively across party lines and demographics to build an effective grassroots mobilisation machinery.

“I look forward to working closely with our leaders, colleagues, stakeholders, and the teeming young people across the country to build a strong, united and effective mobilisation effort towards a successful campaign,” she stated.

Abiola further acknowledged the weight of the responsibility ahead, striking a tone of determination and resolve.

“The task ahead is significant, and I am committed to giving it my very best. Together, we will deliver. So help us God,” she added.

Her appointment comes at a time when political parties across Nigeria are increasingly turning to youth-focused strategies to drive engagement and turnout, recognising the demographic weight young voters now carry in shaping electoral outcomes. As the countdown to 2027 continues, all eyes will be on how directorates like hers translate mobilisation rhetoric into measurable results on the ground — a test that could shape not just the fortunes of the APC, but the broader conversation around youth participation in Nigerian politics.
