Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri Thursday Flaggs off Model School Construction in all the 21 local governments of Adamawa state.
At the ceremony in Girei, the Governor stressed that every local government in the State gets its fair share of development strides, in line with his governance philosophy of No one is left behind and nothing is left untouched.
He further disclosed there won’t be a local government without a project of a minimum of One Billion Naira to show for the bold decision they took in voting him into office. This is one step in the fulfilment of that pledge.
“The 21-model school project is the first phase of such development in the state. It is a fully equipped school that provides the right environment for modern learning at the basic level from nursery, primary and junior secondary school.
“It is expected to sit on a minimum of three hectares in each of our 21 Local Government Areas.
“It is a project worth ₦14,993,496,288.47. It is to be funded through a collaboration with the 21 Local Government Areas of the State.
“It is equally an ingenious way to make our Local Government system proactive and more responsive to the service of our people,” he said.
In separate remarks, the Commissioner for Local Government Affairs and that of Education Hon. Ibrahim Mijinyawa and Dr Umar Garba Pella lauded the Governor for this initiative and great achievement for the state.
The Chairman and Member House of Assembly Girei local government thanked Governor Fintiri for this bold step he took in supporting the children of Adamawa State as education is the master key for every Development.
Highlights of the event were traditional dances and foundation-laying.
The event was attended by Speaker ADHA Rt. Hon. Bathiya Wesley and his deputy Mohammed Buba, Secretary to the State Government Hon. Auwal Tukur, Chief of Staff Government House Yola, Dr Edgar Amos, Commissioners, Advisers, and local government chairmen among others.
